Vocal and instrumental solos, duets, trios, and larger ensemble pieces are presented as preludes, offertories and special music for our worship services and for various social events throughout the year. Those persons having experience in music or a desire to gain experience in music are encouraged to contact the Music Director, Dr. Ralph Boggess (859-4220, ext. 19). We would love to have you use your musical gifts to inspire us in our worship or to entertain us in our social gatherings. The following is a list of the current active musical groups with their rehearsal days, times, and the person to contact. King’s Kids’ Choir4-5 Year Olds – Wednesday, 4:45-5:15 p.m.Young children fellowship with others their age, learn to sing, play rhythm instruments and participate in musical games. The King’s Kids’ Choir sings for church services on Christmas Eve and on a Sunday in April or May. Contact Sherry Erickson
Children’s Choir1st-2nd Graders – Wednesday, 4:15-5:00 p.m.3rd-5th Graders – Wednesday, 5:00-5:45 p.m. Participation in the Children’s Choir provides an opportunity for children to learn about music, God and socialization. The Children’s Choir sings for five Sunday worship services during the school year. A live nativity reenactment is staged each year in December as well as a sacred musical in May. Contact Ralph Boggess Youth Choir6th-12th Graders – Sunday, 5:00-5:55 p.m.This energetic and talented group of singers provides inspirational music for approximately six of our worship services during the school year. Adult ChoirHigh School Students – Retirees – Wednesday, 7:10-8:30 p.m.This group provides the musical leadership for the 11:00 a.m. worship service and for special services throughout the year. The Adult Choir sings vocal music in a variety of styles, including classical, traditional and contemporary songs and enjoys three or four social gatherings each year. Contact Ralph Boggess Handchime Choir3rd-5th Graders – Wednesday, 5:00-5:45 p.m.Children in the Handchime Choir learn the basics of music reading and ensemble music making, playing for three worship services during the school year. Youth Handbell Choirs6th-8th Middle Schoolers – Monday 6:00-6:45 p.m.9th-12th Senior High Students – Sunday 4:00-4:45 p.m. These youth, playing in their respective handbell choirs, learn and enjoy the group dynamics of presenting music for approximately four of our worship services during the school year. Music reading ability and handchime/handbell playing experience are not prerequisites to play in any of the children’s or youth groups. Contact Bunny Deener Adult Handbell ChoirExperienced Adult Ringers – Monday, 6:30-7:30 p.m.The Adult Handbell Choir is an experienced ensemble of music readers and ringers that presents music for our worship services approximately every six weeks between September and May. Music is an important part of the spiritual and social life of Easley Presbyterian Church. Persons of all ages from four-year-olds to senior citizens will be able to find a musical group at our church that is appropriate to their particular abilities and experience.
