Bill Seel, Pastor

Bill is originally from Winter Park, Florida, where he grew up in the Winter Park Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Davidson College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy; and from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia in 1987 with a doctorate in ministry. Before coming to Easley, he served as pastor for the Christ United Presbyterian Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and as pastor/head of staff for the First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville, Georgia. Bill met his wife, Anne, while they were both students at Davidson.

Christie Sweeny Gravely, Associate Pastor

Christie is a South Carolina native and grew up in the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenville, South Carolina. She graduated from Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education in 1995. Christie received her Master of Divinity Degree in 1998 from Princeton Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey.

Christie served as the Associate Pastor for Congregational Care and Concern at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC for eight years. She came to Easley Presbyterian Church in November of 2007. She is married to Edward Gravely from Clemson, SC and they have two children, Leighton and Taylor.

Ginna Lister, Director of Christian Education

Virginia Wilkes Lister “Ginna” was born in Florence, SC. She grew up in Anderson, SC where she was a member of  First Presbyterian Church. She is a graduate of TL Hanna High School and Presbyterian College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education.

Ginna also received the Certificate of Youth Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary.  She is married to Chad Lister from Greer, SC and they have two children, Rett and Cameron.

Leigh McManus, Director of Youth and Missions

Leigh was born in Charlotte, NC.  She grew up in Fort Mill, SC, where she was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church.

After graduating from Presbyterian College in 2004, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education,  she served as the Director of Youth and College Ministries at John Knox Presbyterian, in Greenville, SC, for four years.  Leigh came to Easley Presbyterian Church in July of 2009.

Ralph Boggess, Director of Music

Ralph has been the Director of Music and Organist at Easley Presbyterian Church since 1988. Prior to his appointment at EPC, Ralph held similar positions at the US Army Protestant Church in Wuerzburg, Germany; John Wesley United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, Florida; the First Presbyterian Church in Toccoa, Georgia; and St. David’s Episcopal Church in Southfield, Michigan (near Detroit). Ralph earned his bachelor’s degree in music from Adrian College in 1972; his master’s degree in music history from Florida State University in 1977; and his Ph.D. in music theory from FSU in 1985. Ralph and his wife, Mary, have a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Andy, and two grandchildren, Nathan and Nathalie.

Carol Nicholson, Christian Education Secretary

Carol is a native of upstate South Carolina. She and her husband, Erick, have lived in Easley for the past twenty-one years. She has two grown children and a very active grandson. Carol has served EPC for over eleven years as the Christian Education Secretary.

Linda McRae, Church Secretary

Linda McRae is a native of Greenville, SC but has lived in Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas. She has worked with the Presbyterian Church (USA) since 1985.  Linda worked the first 13 years at First Presbyterian in Greenville and has been Church Secretary at Easley Presbyterian for 13 years.  She has a daughter, Candice, who is married to Travis Kay. Linda’s favorite thing to do is baby-sit her two grandchildren, Carson and Chandler.

Nancy Cochran, Financial Secretary

Nancy began as EPC’s Financial Secretary in the Fall of 2007. She grew up in Salem, SC, attended Tri-County Technical College, and has lived in Easley for seventeen years. Nancy and her husband, John, have two sons, Tyler  and Mason.

Tony Brock, Building Superintendent

Tony is a native of Easley and grew up in the Easley Presbyterian Church. Along with his full-time job as the church Building Superintendent, Tony volunteers as a Sunday School teacher and leads recreation on Wednesday nights. He and his wife, Charlene, have a daughter, Valerie.

 

 

 

 

Libby Dodson, Kindergarten Director

Libby is a native of Easley.  She has worked at the Easley Presbyterian Church Kindergarten since 1996, and has been the Director since 2002. Libby has an adult daughter who is a Guidance Counselor with the School District of Pickens County.

Angela Weisner, Youth Choir Director

Angela is a graduate of Easley High School.  She earned a B.A. in Secondary Education English from Clemson University in 1997.  Angela is currently an English teacher at Easley High School. Her musical background includes piano and voice, and she was a member of the jazz ensemble, CU After Six, at Clemson. She has been a member of the women's quartet, Endless Praise, for over 20 years and has directed Youth Choirs in Franklin, TN and at Easley Presbyterian. Angela is a Master's of Literacy candidate at Furman University. Ashley and Angela have three children, Trevor, Luke, and Lily.

 

 

Mel Brock, Assistant Building Superintendent

Mel has been on staff at Easley Presbyterian Church since 2000. He is married to Jeanette Brock and they have four children and seven grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

 

Bernice (Bunny) Deener, Youth Handbell Director

Bunny has lived in Easley and at EPC since 1964. She is the daughter of Grace and Romayne Hamilton, a graduate of Easley High School, and attended Greenville Technical College. She has two children and five grandchildren. Aside from her current job as an IT Manager at Greenville Automotive, she directs the EPC middle and high school handbell choirs and plays with the adult handbell choir.
