Adult Mission Trip to The Domincan Republic: September 2007A Habitat for Humanity mission team from EPC traveled to the Dominican Republic on September 23-29, 2007. The team consisted of 20 people, both men and women, and spent the week working on building houses for those in need. This trip provided adults the opportunity to encounter a culture different from their own, experience the joy of serving others through a trusted international nonprofit organization, and share the love of God by answering the call to service. High School Mission Trip to San Antonio July 27-Aug. 2, 2008In 2008 we traveled to sunny San Antonio, TX to work with an organization called DOOR. While we were there we had an opportunity to work in several different kinds of outreach centers such as soup kitchens, food banks, clothing warehouses, day care centers, and many other ministries that are needed in inner city San Antonio. This trip provided us with an opportunity to encounter a culture other than our own, while still remaining within our national borders. Middle School Mission trip to Charlotte June 8-13, 2008In 2008 we offered a Middle School Mission trip to Charlotte, NC. We worked with an organization called CROSS, which is a ministry of Myers Park Presbyterian Church. We slept and ate at the church and went out in groups to various ministry sites throughout the city of Charlotte. This enabled us to experience various types of ministries found in a large city, as well as provide an opportunity for us to interact will all kinds of people along the way. Our jobs varied from stocking food pantries, to eating and serving at soup kitchens, and even some yard work or small construction jobs. We also interacted with other church groups who will be staying at Myers Park with us, and we shared meals with them and participated in fellowship and worship times with them. As a reward for all the hard work we accomplished during our week in Charlotte, we spent our last day at Carowinds before heading back to Easley that evening. |
