Care and Benevolence

The Care and Benevolence ministry attends to the spiritual, physical and financial needs of the congregation and of the local community, as requested.

Deacon Visitation
It is the duty of deacons, first of all, to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith. (Book of Order, G-6.0402).

The Care and Benevolence committee oversees the visitation ministry of Easley Presbyterian Church. Members of the committee and Deacons regularly visit church members who are homebound, in residential care facilities, and in need of special care.

Deacons’ Fund
The purpose of the Deacons’ Fund is to minister to the financial needs of members of the Easley Presbyterian Church and of the Easley community. Designated representatives from the committee along with the associate pastor consider each financial request individually. Funds are allocated according to need and as deemed appropriate.

Bereavement
Members of the Care and Benevolence committee visit those who grieve and give Grief Booklets at intervals throughout the first year after a loss. The committee also supports those who have lost a loved one (who is not a church member) by offering a casserole for immediate family members. When a member of the church dies, the Presbyterian Women offer either a reception or a meal.

Prayer Support
A group of dedicated Christians meets once a week to pray for the needs of our members and their loved ones. The group receives prayer requests through the Sunday bulletin tear-strip, the weekly pastoral report, and via emails and other contacts. To request prayer, please contact the church office or one of the pastors.
